Her father was Thomas BROWN, farmer, her mother was Sarah Jean SCOTT. Ref Marriage Cert 1927 # 6762

Alfred was a baker, and worked in Dargaville around 1906 with his brother William (below). The family then moved to Hamilton East. With Isabella's death in 1927, Alfred marrying again 2 months later and Mervyn's tragic death a year later the family had difficult times, and had little to do with their father, who moved to Auckland for his later years.
